The Challenges and Realities of E-Learning during COVID-19: The Case of University Sport and Physical Education

E-learning quickly became a crucial tool for universities and other higher education institutions during the global COVID-19 pandemic. The field of sport physical (PE) was no exception. However, though there is considerable growth in digital technologies or education, we have very little evidence about use outcomes these technologies. Thus, this study aims to document how e-learning pedagogical approaches were employed sport, challenges successes associated with approaches, potential avenues improvement. To do so, total 27 responses collected two online qualitative surveys, one respectively students (n = 15) teachers 12). Structured follow-up interviews four additional teacher conducted verify deepen responses. findings show that interaction variety critical components successful learning. reported difficulties motivating students, especially if visual connection present. Ultimately, even innovation, variety, interaction, education’s practical social nature does not fully translate setting. conclude by proposing practice research respond documented here.
